Crisis Counsellor Program

Community Crisis Counsellors for women and their children fleeing domestic violence, but who are unable to access spaces at the shelter.

Eligibility Requirements:

Recent experience of violence and/or abuse.Can be in a relationship, preparing to leave, or may have already left.

Access:

Professional Referral Required Access Note: Also direct telephone access.
Wheelchair Access: Yes

  • assistance and support to women who have been abused (and their children) and who are not ready or do not need access to a shelter
  • safety planning
  • attending to basic needs such as housing, legal assistance and food support
  • crisis counselling
  • support to increase women's safety in whatever option they choose
  • connections to community resources
