Street Services

A range of services for homeless and at-risk youth.

Eligibility Requirements:

Street youth between the ages of 12 and 24 who are at risk of self-harm, prostitution or conflict with the law. Youth Shelter is for youth between the ages of 12 and 17.  For New Horizons Program: must be between 18 and 24, able to pay rent, and work together with support staff.

A range of services for homeless and at-risk youth.
  • a downtown storefront location providing assistance for homeless youth who are at risk of self harm or involved with sexual exploitation
  • assistance for young people who may be in conflict with the community, family or the legal system
  • daily on-site crisis counselling as well as walk-in counselling with a therapist on Tuesdays
  • clinical women's group on Tuesdays
  • medical support on site through the Calgary Adolescent Treatment Services (CATS) Clinic
  • a variety of health and wellness services including addictions counselling, life skills groups (cooking, employment, sewing) and yoga
  • Exit Youth Shelter providing safe basic needs overnight accommodation for homeless youth
  • Re-engaging Academically Disconnected Adolescents Respectfully (RADAR) program to support for youth 13 to 15 who are disconnected from family, school and the community and on the verge of homelessness
  • New Horizons Program, support and transitional housing for 14 youth, ages 18-24, who have the ability to pay rent
